Hi folks! I’m John Karrasch and want to thank you for stopping by to look around. I am a bike fitter with Cahaba Cycles in Birmingham, Alabama, and a coach with Ordinary Epics in Jackson, Mississippi. My passion is helping athletes forge a clear path towards their goals, whether that is finishing a local charity ride in comfort or navigating the sharp end of a National Championship race!

I have been an athlete all my life, and a competitive cyclist since 1999. My focus has always been on mountain bike events, with a hearty dose of road miles thrown in for training and fun. I have been fortunate to step on a few podiums over the years in everything from cyclocross races all the way out to NUE 100 mile and 24 hour solo mountain bike races. I’ve dabbled in trail running more the past couple years and recently completed the Blood Rock 55K.

Success is always accompanied by failure along the way, and I had my share of frustrations with riding related injuries and uncertainty in my bike setup. These came into sharp focus the first few years after I finished my training as a Physical Therapist Assistant. I found answers and solutions here and there, but realized I had some hard work to do on my own. Struggles with my own issues led to a curiosity strong enough to form a new career path!

On the advice of Steve Hogg and some others I respect, I began fitting bikes around 2013. I have enjoyed my training and continuing education with some really great people including Paraic McGlynn, Jay Dicharry, Dan John, and Chris Johnson. My experience as a mechanic, therapist, and racer has helped me put together an approach with proven results. If you feel like your situation could be better, I want to hear from you!

 Let’s position you for success.
